Rykestraße 13 · Prenzlauer Berg

The one and only
rosé café in Berlin

A Frenchman, an Australian breakfast, and a fridge full of Provence rosé. On a Prenzlauer Berg side street, with the sun on the terrace and nowhere else to be.

Allan came to Berlin the long way round, by way of Australia, and brought the good bits with him: the coffee, the eggs, the refusal to take a Tuesday too seriously. Then he added the French half. Rosé at lunchtime. Sometimes oysters at six, when we feel like it. A bar that stays open because the sun is still out.

The rosé is the point. Mostly Provence, always cold, poured from the moment we open without anyone raising an eyebrow. Pink in the glass, yellow over your head, and a whole afternoon in front of you.

Ten years on Rykestraße and some things have not moved: the eggs Benny, the striped awning, the fact that we still only take cash.

The food

Aussie brunch, cooked by a Frenchman. The eggs Benny turns up in a hundred separate Google reviews and we are not going to pretend that is an accident.

Mostly Provence, always cold

Rosé all day,
everyday

There is a neon sign behind the bar that says exactly this, so we are committed now. The list leans hard into Provence, because that is where the pale, dry, drink-it-in-daylight stuff comes from, and it is what we would be drinking anyway.

Then there is ABC Rosé, our own label. A new vintage lands every year and it does not hang around. Beyond that, a frosé when it is hot, a Bloody Mary that has rescued a number of Sundays, and a spritz list that is open as soon as we are.

Nobody here will look at you strangely for ordering pink before lunch. That is rather the whole idea.

Coffee, tea & the good stuff

Coffee roasted in Berlin, and everything that comes after it. Spritzes from ten, Bloody Marys for the brave, frosé when the terrace gets going.

Margaritas: cheaper than therapy. All prices in €, cash only, and we don't split bills.
